I have been married to my wonderful wife, Deborah (Debbie) Poole-Bravard, for 19 years. We met while serving in the Armed Forces, she in the Army and I in the Air Force. I left the service to pursue other opportunities while she stayed and finished 25 years of Active Duty. I am so proud of her.
Our children: The eldest is Angie; she graduated from Indiana State with a Bachelor in Criminology. Our son, Austin is 18, plays football, is an Eagle Scout and will enter Purdue this fall. The baby, Alex is 16, is a writer, a Junior and runs the farm. She keeps track of the livestock, plants, cultivates and harvests our produce for sale. I am a proud daddy and really appreciate their hard work.
Personal Philosophy:
What I have learned being in Seminary, serving in the churches ministry and also in my personal walk with Christ is that our spiritual formations and spiritual practices are an essential aspect of one's growth in Christ. Scripture itself speaks of the power of the Word of God to pierce the soul and reveal one's deeper thoughts and intentions (Hebrews 4:12). Many of the greatest names in the Christian faith – Augustine, Luther, Calvin, Foster, and many others – have written how healthy Spiritual practices is necessary for one's continuing spiritual growth. When we initially receive Christ as Lord, it is often through an awareness of our need for His grace and mercy; we grow spiritually in the same fashion.
I am a life-long learner with experience in project management, systems analysis and design, user support / training, scripting, hardware/software installation, etc...
I have lot of cool acronyms and really enjoy my work.
Although, my true passion: "The call which has placed me in ministry." I serve as Lead Pastor for Westland Friends Church.
